Mathilde Vendramin

is a French cellist, vocalist, and composer based in Berlin. A multifaceted artist, she navigates seamlessly between genres, blending music, writing, and performance to create immersive and deeply personal works.

With a background in musicology, classical cello, and vocal jazz, she has long been a sought-after collaborator in various ensembles. In addition to her work as a side-woman, she chose to take on the role of bandleader and lead composer, fully embracing her artistic vision.

In 2025, she will mark this new chapter with the release of two EPs:

  • “Outline”, a duo project with pianist Arseny Rykov (February).
  • “Écrin”, with her own quartet (April).

These projects reflect her passion for sonic exploration and her talent for weaving together composition, improvisation, and instrumental textures.

Alongside her artistic career, Mathilde is a dedicated educator. She teaches in Berlin and leads masterclasses in Germany and France, with a particular focus on improvisation for string instruments.
