Cellist, vocalist, composer, improviser

Mathilde Vendramin, a French cellist, vocalist, and composer based in Berlin, is distinguished by her rich and varied artistic background. Her studies in musicology, classical cello, and vocal jazz, combined with her ability to defy categorization, have shaped her into a versatile artist who fluidly navigates multiple genres. She enjoys blending writing, spoken word, and performative elements into her art, creating deeply engaging and multidimensional works.

After extensive experiences as a side-woman in various bands (as a cellist and/or vocalist), Mathilde decided to also step into the role of bandleader, fully realizing her artistic vision.

In 2025, Mathilde will release two EPs: one with her duo alongside pianist Arseny Rykov and another one with her own quartet. These projects will mark an exciting new chapter in her artistic evolution, further establishing her voice in the contemporary music scene.

In addition to her creative work, Mathilde is a dedicated educator who is currently teaching in Berlin and has led several masterclasses in Germany and France, particularly focusing on improvisation applied to string instruments.
